Construction
on Marina to Begin in Quepos
The first phase of construction on a 200-slip, $13.5
million marina in the central Pacific coast town on
Quepos is scheduled to begin in May, the daily La
Republica reported this week.
The company Marina Pez Vela, in charge of the new
marina, chose Quepos because of its tourist attractions
and sport fishing, the daily reported.
The marina, scheduled to open in five years, is
expected to create 1,000 jobs, and the canton of Aguirre,
where Queops is located, has already begun plans for
training centers and infrastructure improvements near
the marina.
